Good packaging keeps out the three things that ruin a cashew: oxygen, which turns its oils rancid; moisture, which softens the crunch; and knocks in transit, which break the kernel. Here's how we choose a format for your brand, and what we need from you to print it.

What the layers do

Most retail pouches are a sandwich: a printable outer film, a barrier in the middle, and a food-safe sealing layer inside.

LDPEThe inner layer that touches the nuts. Heat-seals easily and blocks moisture.

Aluminium foilA complete barrier to oxygen, moisture and light. The biggest single boost to shelf life.

Metallised filmMost of foil’s protection at lower cost, with a premium metallic finish.

PETStrong, printable outer layer for sharp graphics. Also used for clear jars.

BOPPClear, glossy and moisture-resistant. Good for windows and premium finishes.

TinplateImpermeable, recyclable and gift-worthy. The best protection for long export journeys.

Kraft paperNatural, eco-friendly look. Needs an inner barrier coating to keep nuts fresh.

03 · How we pack

From sorting table to pallet

01Sort & gradeColour sorting and hand inspection remove broken kernels and foreign matter.

02WeighMulti-head weighers portion each pack accurately.

03FillInto pouches, jars or tins straight after weighing.

04Remove oxygenNitrogen flushing or vacuum just before sealing.

05SealHeat-sealed pouches or seamed tins. The seal has to be perfect.

06Code & labelBatch number, net weight, and packed-on and best-before dates.

07CheckWeight verification, seal testing and metal detection.

08Carton & palletBoxed by the dozen for retail, or packed into export cartons.
